Fixing mechanical clocks has been my hobby since the mid 1970s after someone gave me an antique striking wall clock that I had admired for a couple of years. It's just a German "springer" but I found it fascinating. It ran perfectly but I dismantled and cleaned it anyway, and I still have it.
Over the next thirty years I bought more than a hundred and fifty different clocks, mostly antique but some modern ones as well, just to learn more about them. I still have most of those, too. But a sheer lack of space has forced me to stop buying and instead I now use my expertise to repair other people's clocks.
So if your clock's not working and you're looking for a good, dependable but affordable repairer to fix it, compare my services and my unbelievably simple price list. I have very low overheads and don't do it for a living, so I can offer the same professional repair service you'll see in the High Street but much, much cheaper and with a passion that you'll quickly find infectious!
Because I only do the repairs in my spare time, I can't turn them round as fast but if you're not in a rush, check my feedback for just some of the comments I've received in the past 12 months.

I began writing this site (another of my hobbies) because I simply must reduce the size of my collection of clocks. I particularly want them to go to other enthusiasts rather than straight to dealers looking to turn a quick profit. I guarantee each one for 12 months parts and labour but all the movements are sound and should give many years' service unless abused. After the rigors of transportation, some minor adjustment might be required to the movement depending on where you position the clock but if you need help with this, just ask. Most are accurate to within a minute or two a week and can easily be corrected during periodic winding. Don't forget that the clock cases themselves are antique, too, so will bear the characteristic signs of age. If you're looking for atomic accuracy and characterless condition, you're in the wrong place and probably need to Google 'reproduction quartz clocks'.

I fear that this site might always be 'under development' because I keep adding more horological information to keep it fresh and interesting so do use the search facility underneath the working dial clock (above right) if you're looking for something specific. I'm in no hurry to see any of my clocks go but when it's more advanced, you'll be able to click on a picture for more detailed images of what is available to buy. However, the php scripts required are complex new territory for me so I'm still working on that in what little spare time I have.
